Truffer, Wongchu and Lhakpa climbed to C2 on 27 April to deposit gear and tents. The conditions were difficult, too much snow. They descended to C1, where they arrived at 5 pm where they stayed one night on 26 April. The team decided to abandon climb as they wanted to go to Cho Oyu. The conditions were so difficult that Sherpas took 6 days to fix rope from C1 to C3. They shared the work with Olaf Rieck's team, which was also on mountain rope fixing.

Team left BC on 2 May by helicopter to Kathmandu. They stayed for 2 nights in Kathmandu before they left for Cho Oyu.
