Andrew was climbing with Charlie Mace and Brendan Cusik when the avalanche struck. They were left of the gully and nobody got hurt. Mace and Cusik decided to abandon the climb, after the avalanche, and even though Andrew wanted to continue to climb, he left the mountain with the others as he did not want to climb on his own.
