On trek from Lukla to BC, one leg swelled and developed pain. After getting to BC and walking up on 15th and 16th above BC, problem remained, so telephoned wife, who consulted their doctor who said cause was either a muscle problem or possibly deep-vein thrombosis and he should come home. Left BC on 20th by helicopter to KTM and will stay here till 25th before taking long flight home to Oregon.

Wants to come again to Ama Dablam (its an obsession), preferably in autumn season, when not so crowded.
