Ang Phinjo Sherpa (Khumjung, 42 yrs) died near C1 (at 6500m); stayed at C2 after 9th Dec when had carried gear for C3 to 7400m and then down to C2; 12th sirdar reported Ang Pinjo not well and leader said to send him down; he descended alone, confused, lost then found in confused condition, carried down; died 10 mins above C1 suddenly at 3:05 pm; artificial respiration tried at Dhugla.

Koreans waited at C2 more than 10 days, strong winds blew away kitchen tent. 27th Dec wind suddenly stopped so up to C3; reestablished tents at C3 on 28th. 29th tried to reach S Col and reached Col but unable to pitch tent because late (5 pm) and alone, so down to C3 in dark and arrived C3 (6:30 pm); some frostbite in toes. 30th strong wind and 6:00 pm 4 members missing in descent from C3 to C2 (too cold for walkie-talkie batteries) but found 9:00 pm, reached C2 10:00 pm. 31st on down and 1st Jan decided abandon climb because strong wind, very cold, members exhausted, loss of weight, some altitude sickness and some frostbite; food nearly finished and plan was to stop at end Dec. Left BC 3 Jan to 5th Jan. Kim "very disappointed" by Sherpas who were reluctant to go high: they were afraid that if they reached col, they would have to make summit bid.

Lee Yeon-Guen developed leg infection after 10-meter fall when snow bridge collapsed.

Oxygen used for sleeping at C3 and climbing to Col.
