Sepic lost trail in walk out because trail covered in dense fog and no one knows where; searched for him including from helicopter. Skarja from Slovenian Alpine Federation is now searching by helicopter. Lot of old tents, "bodies everywhere" just below top. Very bad weather in first days of climb with wind and snowfall.


Tone Skarja, Slovenian Alpine Federation - 1 June 2004:

Continued searching on the ground and from low lying helicopters for 23 hours of flights; found no traces, of Sepic. Have posted notices with his photo offering $1000 reward posted in many places and police at Jomsom informed.


Skarja - 18 July 2004

Sepic's body found and identified as his by Skarja, who returned from area 17 July. Body was in woods not far above Tukuche village and discovered by shepards who told Dutchman living in Tukuche and he informed police. Sepic had fallen in rocky area trying to take a shortcut; his head smashed so must have died instantly. Body cremated at Tukuche.
