Very bad weather, always wind, wind, on face very hard ice. Abandoned attempt on 30 April because of wind and down to BC. At BC were 2 friends whom he invited to come (were from his sponsor), so when learned at BC they not feeling well and wanted to leave, he agreed to go because "they were my responsibility." Friends too tired to leave BC for 10 days.
