French-Swiss Expedition to Lhotse

High point on SE Ridge of Lhotse Shar.
Acclimatized on Island peak and on Lhotse Shar SE Ridge at 6800m on 16th April. Then back to BC to wait good weather. On 10th face was very good, very dry following one week of winds, but after 13th snow began falling and fell everyday. Never went onto face: snow every afternoon and avalanching on face every morning. 17 days at BC was enough. Wanted to try Polish route on right of face.
