24 Sept 11:00 pm (NST) Cussen left C2 to go to top. Ang Pasang, Nichols, Stern and Turner, Danuru and Phu Nuru and Race left C3 1:00 am, but Race, seeing Cussen's headlight, dropped back to C3 and heated water for her. Race and Cussen left C3 at 1:30 am and caught up with others at small rock band. Traffic jam on fixed line and they were on it for 3 hours (24,800 ft to 25,500 ft, approx) reached top of one at 4:30 am. Cussen on top 8:45 am. Stern and Turner turned back about 8000m to make sure [they] he wasn't going to run out of energy on descent. Both Dawa Nuru and Phu Nuru to top with Cussen. Nichols and Race on up but Nichols fell over backwards and unable to self arrest. Phu Nuru caught him and got him on his feet at about 8150m. Race, the guide, short-roped him to top of fixed rope. All members slept in C2 and Sherpas to ABC.

This was the guided group; also on permit: House, Bell and Carter parties.
