14 May Searle, McGuinness, Lipsher, Lhotta, Pasang, Dendi and Nyamgal left C3 3:30 am, on top 10:30 am. On top saw bottom half of Everest and more of Makalu while team was in clear weather and gentle wind. Searle got cold feet 4:30 am, turned around, back to C2, up again to 8150m on plateau with Germans, at 5:00 pm caught in storm of snow and wind and white out, but safely in C3 by 5:30 pm. All others on summit - returned to C2 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
