BC at normal site (same as 1998 & 1999)
C1 at col at bottom of West Ridge
C2 on West Ridge.

24 Oct started for top after Sherpas had fixed rope from C2 to 6600m; at 3:00 am left C2: Pelle and 4 members and 3 Sherpas. 2 members reached 6600m, Isambert and Lieters to 6600m; Pelle and Dugue to 6200m where she got badly sick from altitude (cerebral edema), so Pelle had to take her to C1. Very cold and windy.

Slovenian asked for rescue but all French in C2 and at least 5 hours away from him with technical problems to reach him and French too tired to try. He died about 1-1/2 hours after his appeal.
