In August attempted N Ridge. 2 men put a tent at 6100m under N Ridge but turned back; then Bertoglio became sick and they moved on to normal route, on which Bertoglio went to C2 and Rosso to summit.

Bertoglio is well-known runner who runs up an Alp's more than 3000m in 2 hrs, but he is used to careful regimen and excellent diet, but did not adapt to Himalaya expedition's food and altitude. Were supposed to be at Everest BC by Sept, so were not permitted to go Everest following Cho Oyu ascent.
