BC at high BC
C1 on glacier (only once slept in)
C2 slightly above Makalu La.

26 April put tent at 6100m and slept there but afterwards used only as deposit and went from BC to Makalu La. 13 May went from BC to Makalu La. 14 May reached 8100m in summit bid but deep snow and too late to go on. 15 May 2:00 am left C2 again and went to top at 1:30 pm (Koreans 1 hour later, Germans 1 hour after Koreans). Sure Koreans reached true summit (but not to Xixa top in spring '98 when only to 1st summit). All 3 summiters skied from 7000m to 1 hour before BC because not snow covered. Returned to C2 5:00 pm and BC next day.

Bianchi and Rosa left because Bianchi not strong enough and Rosa his friend and both no motivation left; left team 9 May.
