C2 at Makalu La
C3 before Icefall.

29 April made 1st summit bid but stopped at 7800m because icefall blue ice. 30 April same again try but at 7900m and fixing rope took too much time through icefall and seracs. 31 to BC. Rest in BC up 4 May to C1. 6 May arrived C3. 7 May tried for top but wind very strong. 8 May to BC. Again up 12 May same 5 men but Kang returned BC 13 May from C1 condition not good. 13 May to C2, 14th to C3 and 15th to top by Park and Lee. Da Chhiri Sherpa with Italians and Germans later. Park trio at 2:10 pm much later (4:00-6:00 pm) - had started up from C3 at 1:10 am making route through deep snow and 8:30 am at French coloir. Slept in C3 after returning 8:20 pm in moonlight. 16 May in BC. 17th to Takna (4800m) and 18 May helicopter flew them from Takna to KTM.

Not so difficult as Kangchenjunga, but Makalu is also difficult.
