C1 at top of Icefall
C2 in Western Cwm
C3 on Lhotse Face
C4 at South Col.

Spent 1 week in C2 and saw bad snow conditions on Lhotse Face, so down to BC and stayed there until mid-May (some Sherpas down to Pangboche to visit families). Summit party left BC 16 May including Dunnahoo, Greenholz, Miss Gattone, Link, Wilson, Ang Pasang, Dawa Sonam, Ang Gelu, Dorje Sherpas and cook Pemba. All reached C4 except cook who turned back at Geneva Spur with headache. 6 members (not Gattone, who got snowblind getting to C4 and stayed there, unable to go up or down) left C4 at 10:00 pm 21 May and Wilson turned back just below balcony with Dunnahoo who was tired and unable to move. Ang Pasang, Link and Greenholz down from just below South Summit because 10:00 am and he ran out of energy. Just below Hillary Step Dorje went down because tired, a little slow and young. On South Summit Dawa Sonam turned down to go down with the Pangboche summiters in their descent and weather deteriorating with snow starting now at 11:00 am while Hahn with him went on to top at 1:30 pm (2 hours from 3 summit). Other 4 summiters were on top at 9:15 am, the first to top from south side with others behind.


Hahn - 13 March 01

Hahn on summit at 1:20 pm, the last person top that day and only one at 1:20 pm. He returned to C4 at 7:30 pm, in slow descent from just below "the balcony" because helped on Iranian whose oxygen had finished.
