C1 at col between Tukuche and Dhaulagiri
C2 at beginning of NE Ridge
High point at C2 site.
24th slept in C1; stayed C1 waiting for good weather but snowed everyday and French Military expedition had fatal avalanche. 28th tried to go to C3 to retrieve gear but at 6300m snow conditions too dangerous and descended. 29th to BC. Was snowing again on 28th and 1m deep snow. Left BC 1 Oct.
Gave up attempt because had to leave Nepal on 12th Oct. Icefall had been well-equipped by time this team arrived.
