Sven Gangdal left for the summit and with Jon Gangdal, Dawa Tshering and Tamtin Sherpa at 2:30 am. Sven turned around at 4:30 am at 7500m due to exhaustion. They used the direct route through the rock band above C3. The Sherpas slept on oxygen but then climbed without it. Jon slept on 1 hour of oxygen and used it to climb from 7800m to the summit and back. Jon Gangdal is the first Norwegian to climb two 8000m peaks in one season. They were the only people to summit on April 13th.

They said they had a great view of Everest from the summit of Cho Oyu. On summit day they left high camp at 2:30 am and returned to high camp at 5:00 pm.

The route on Cho Oyu this year was very dry. Lots of hard ice between C1 & C2 and lots of rock exposed from C3 to the summit.

They placed prayer flags and a cross on the summit of Cho Oyu. They reached the summit at 12:45 pm. They all slept at C2 after the summit on April 13th.

Kjetil Liokel attempted the summit of Xixibangma but turned back due to exhaustion. Tore Klokk and Erik Klaus Okstad did not continue to Xixabangma after Cho Oyu.
