Spent 4 days on Mera Peak and got to saddle below summit and then having fallen into many crevasses, members were very tired. Group had "less experience than appeared on paper" and "route finding" errors were made, so abandoned Mera Peak.

Then spent 5 days waiting for weather (snowfall) to permit porters to move team, but also now evident memberes unwilling to help porters cope with difficult conditions. Had paid $5500 to go to Baruntse but now said not keen to go to it, so from Mera BC went trekking up Nunku Drangka to Amphu Labtsa to Imja Glacier and to Chhukung and Khumbu. Members were friends or acquaintences, but had never been on an expedition before and had no sympathy for porters in trouble (nor interest in local culture).
