Before going to Ama Dablam climbed Mera Peak for acclimatization and then across Mingbo La to relax at Ama Dablam BC for one full day's rest before climbing mountain quickly.

Abadie - team was able to make very rapid ascent because 1) they had spent 9 days already above 5000m at Mera Peak and Mingbo La, and 2) all necessary fixed ropes were in place from earlier expeditions. On 6 Nov, all summiters went to top at 9:00 am from C3 and down to sleep in BC that night.
