BC at normal site Yalung Glacier
C3 on Great Shelf.

Icefall and 2 snow faces above BC below C1. Above C1 there were not the expected crevasses and bridges not needed. Made new C4 because were able to place C4 so high. Between 18 and 27th Dec, snowfall, strong winds and difficult climbing around many crevasses. 2nd Jan summit bid from C4 over long distance: left C4 6:00 am and on summit 5:10 pm by Lee Jeong-Chel with oxygen and returned to C4 at 9:00 pm on 1st Jan. Lee Joo-I tried without oxygen starting 4 am but at 8400m 2 toes each foot freezing so turned back at 3 pm and toes okay with treatment. Lee Jeong-Chel used oxygen on 2nd Jan intermitently. 3 Sherpas with him carrying one oxygen bottle with last of them turning back at 8400m; Lee took switches of oxygen and continued to do so while alone above 8400m. After 2 Jan, Lee needed help to treat freezing toes and weather not so good, so all members descended 3 Jan and climb finished.

Lee Sung-Ho died from drinking bad water on approach march with "big stomach" and much diarrhea with blood and died below BC at Kunjari 11 Dec after 5 days illness; Dil Bahadur Rai died 10 Dec of altitude sickness after carrying load to BC on 9th Dec.
