After Reinhold left, hung around waiting to see what Austrians did and talked with LO who said only thing to do would be solo it, but snow conditions not favourable for that; walked around both side of east ridge with family; never went on Makalu at all.

LO didn't permit MacIntyre join Scott on SE Ridge and only Sherpa (Pasang) left with Scott not up to such a climb.

Scott (Makalu) abandoned climb.

4 Oct started from BC and reached 6200m on 5th Oct decided to give up; not clear who if anyone was with him. Leaves for KTM as soon as porters arranged.
