High point at north rounded face.

Habeler to go to top on 30th but reached only 6000m because wind had blown a lot of snow saddle here. Down to BC same day - rest in BC. 1 Nov 4:00 am Habeler alone from BC to try for top again, reached C2 of Joe Simpson group at 6:00 am, got to saddle just after 9:00 am, but big avalanche had cleared snow from much of snow but not all of it; had to go around to north but deep snow here too; had to stop below top in this very deep snow because simply could not go further in deep soft snow and no safe way around it, so down to BC 1:15 pm.

Should perhaps have descended some distance and gone around to the south, but time restriction discouraged this.

Schluga went to C1 on 29 Oct and down to BC on 30th.
