원정 개요

Joos and Ennemoser had depot above North Col but not slept there - too much wind, disturbed by rubbish at ABC and Col and not motivated to make real attempt. On 21 May decided to give up and go home, so on 22nd both members up to depot at 7300m to bring down gear left there.


Ennemoser - 9 May 96

Joos went to highest summit of Xixabangma on 1 May and Ennemoser to West summit (too dangerous to go to main).

Bircher and Marugg too tired from Xixabangma to go now to Everest, so only Joos and Ennemoser will go, leaving 12 May. Not sure which route will climb since now only 2 members and no climbing Sherpas. Hope to reach summit 23 May and return KTM end May.
