In 48 days, 7-8 days fine weather, other days much snow. In 2 days after success snow in high BC 60 cm.
Low BC at 4400m near start of Yalung Glacier. Arrived 26th March high BC 5516m, same as 1955 expedition on 3 April.
From C1 down 250m, very difficult, and across glacier and up a small ridge; made ropeway to ferry across.
Summit 2 May by Menabreaz, Squinobal and Nga Temba; Squinobal and Nga Temba used no oxygen at all. Also in summit attempt of 2 May Chenny and Ang Chopal Sherpa reached 8000m and then turned back because not in good condition. No more summit attempts because too much snow falling for day after day. Only 4 fine days were at time of successful summit attempt. 2 May finest day of all. Route was as same as 1955 route. Because of bad weather, decided not to try pillar.
