BC at Tulagi Glacier
C1 on South (or SW) Face
C2 100m below col of South Ridge.
Had to change route and abandon S Ridge because of constant wind and on east side of ridge very dangerous wind slab.
So switched to Messner route after having gone to 1st C2 3 times on col of S Ridge. 1st summit team had bad winds going up 24th, team had wind and snow in descent. Pillar of 600m just below C1 had some overhangs: "very nice climbing" that Sherpas found difficult. Fixed 800m rope on pillar and some ladder (4750-5000m where rope fixed).
