High point at SE Ridge.
Lee in Aut 1980 was in pillar and this time more difficult because of blue ice; also problem in of big snow bridge now "all broken." 25th April 1st summit bid from C4 and reached 8400m where deep snow: at 8100m left the pillar and crossed to normal route 25th down to C4 stay there and 1 member to C2.
Next summit bid 7th May from C4 by 1 member and 1 Sherpa and they reached 8300m, deep snow and 2 men not strong enough to continue and down to C4.
Another bid on 8 May and got to 8600m and again to chest-deep snow and strong wind and 2 to C4 and 1 member to C2. Now weather not so good; on 10th eight teams together could force route through deep snow.
All members this team very tired after long period on mountain and Sherpas not so strong.
