No attempt made to climb mountain. Porters were insufficient in numbers (members had to ferry loads) and not at all equipped for snow and cold. Deep snow in BC area. Members had to lend some of their clothing. Porters huddled together in the snow for the night of 8/9 Nov and on 9th entire party moved away for retreat via Amphu Laptsa and Lukla.
