Report from Brian Wegner:

Approach: Jeep to Upper Pisang, climbed Chulu Far East, trekked to BC.

C1 12/09 5750m
C2 16/09 6300m
C3 18/09 6600m
C4 just few hours of rest
Smt 25/09 by Wegner and Nima Sherpa st 5 am.

Set off from C3 at 6 am on 24/09. Stopped at C4 for some rest, continued at 8 pm for the summit. Not many people on summit, good weather, no wind. Maybe on the top for 10 minutes.

Descent to BC in one push, arrival BC at 5 pm. Left BC on 28/09.

Oxygen: Taken for emergency, not used by member. Used by Sherpa from C4 to summit and down to C4.

Records: Youngest German to summit Manaslu without supplemental oxygen.

Other peaks: Chulu Far East

Accidents: Degree 1 frostbite on both feet on all toes. Will likely recover completely.

He felt on way to summit that his toes grew numb and cold, but decided to push on and take the chance of frostbite. His mountain boots were too small. Slight frostbite on all toes, will heal soon.

Jost Kobusch was his personal trainer and coached him during whole expedition.

Approach: Trekking via Larkya La

C4 25/09 7418m just few hours of rest
Smt 26/09 by Wieczorek and Lhakpa Sherpa at 4:30 am.

On the top at 4:30 am. Waited on the summit for the sunrise. Stayed for 1 hour. Very good weather, good view, not cold.

Set off from C4 at 11 pm on 25/09. Down to BC in one push, arrival at 6:30 pm.

On 27/09 rest day in BC. On 28/09 to Samagaon. On 29/09 by heli and jeep to KTM.

Few days rest in KTM and then on to Himlung and Ama Dablam with same Sherpa.

Oxygen: Taken and used from C4 to summit and down to C4 byW ieczorek and Sherpa.

Other peaks: Will attempt Himlung and Ama Dablam next.
