In a historic first, an all-Nepali women-led expedition, joined by Brazilian climbers, successfully summited Himlung Himal (7126m) on October 26, 2025, at 2:00 pm. The Himlung Women Expedition 2025, organized by Dorjees Adventure Pvt. Ltd., marks the first time Nepali women have led a 7000m international climb.

Led by Fura Diki Sherpa, the team included six Sherpa women and five Brazilian mountaineers, with every expedition role — from guide to cook — performed by women. The mission aimed to empower women in mountaineering, promote gender equality, and celebrate Sherpani leadership.

The Nepali summit team comprised Fura Diki Sherpa, Mingmar Dolma Sherpa, Ngima Jangmu Sherpa, Pasang Kanchi Sherpa, and Tshering Doka Sherpa, with Serki Lhamu Sherpa leading the high-altitude kitchen team.

The Brazilian climbers (Daniela M. Furusawa and Vanessa S. Oliveira) reached the summit, while Maria Alberici reached up to 6400 meters.

“This climb is about courage, endurance, and the unbreakable bond between Nepal and Brazil,” said Dorje Gyaljen Sherpa.
