C1 just below South Ridge
High point on South Ridge, at junction of SW and SE Ridge.
Weather changed daily with snowfall and winds every afternoon. Then Mack and Rumpf got sick with high fever and had to stop climb. Also no more time to catch Lukla flight that had been booked. In meantime had reached 30m below high point on 29th by same two men (Mack had now recovered). Route difficult: steep ice and rock climbing; ridge looked not so difficult.
