High point on North Face just below 1st Step.
Weather deteriorated very badly after mid-May, but before that winds were strong. Finally 28th May Anderson & Teare left C5 at 11 pm in desperate bid to reach summit without making C6 but found snow conditions that stopped them: they were setting off slab avalanches & knee deep or more snow making progress slow. Reached 8200m that day at 6 am, having used up already half of oxygen they had with them & probably 10 hrs more climbing to top. Now time finished: yaks arriving at ABC 29-30 May.
High point was near traditional location of C6. Had had 2 summit bids but no higher than C5 because of fierce winds.
