Today, Simrik Air Helicopter successfully rescued foreign tourists stranded in the Ama Dablam mountain in the eastern Himalayan range of Nepal. The rescue operation was led by Pilot-In-Command Capt. Siddartha Jang Gurung, Chhiring Dhenduk Bhote and Ang Tashi Sherpa.

The rescue mission was conducted to recover Mr. Jose Manuel Zapata Lopez, a tourist from Spain who had dislocated his leg while climbing Mt. Ama Dablam. Mr. Lopez and his crew were meant to reach the summit of Mt. Ama Dablam today, but his crampon (mountain spikes) slipped causing him to fall and dislocate his leg. The entire rescue mission was conducted in a height of 6300 meters where the helicopter couldn’t land, so the team long-lined and rescued Mr. Lopez.
