Shortly after arriving at base camp Shivangi and her Sherpa got infected with Covid-19. She was flown to Civic hospital in Kathmandu where she underwent treatment for 3 days. Afterwards she spent 14 days in isolation in her hotel in Kathmandu.

After her recovery she flew back to base camp and reached her highpoint at 6100m. But she felt too weak to continue and decided to abandon the climb.
