Benito Tompot - 1 Oct 2019

Tompot abandoned climb on 26/09 at C3 (6800m). At C3 Tompot was told there was not going to be a tent to sleep in C4. He wanted to rest a few hours at C4 and go for summit from there. Pasang Bhote said he had to go from C3 and also pushed him to go as far as he could, but Tompot refused without a plan to rest at C4. Adding to the factors that he had a little cold and only one Thermos of 1 litre between two of them (Pasang didn't have a Thermos). Tompot decided not to go for summit due to these factors. Tompot stayed one night therefore at C3, and descended to BC on 27th Sept in one day.

Chen Xue - 29 Sept 2019

There were only four climbers in the small international summit team, include two Korean, one Spanish and one Chinese Chen Xue. They left BC at 7 am on 22-Sep and reached C2 at 3:30 pm in the same day. They started summit push from C2, but there were no C3 and C4 for them, no tents, food or water. Chen Xue suffered it for more than 45 hours. At midnight, they need to sit on snow outside tents. The terrible summit plan and no logistics support caused her to be exhausted and emotional breakdown then she gave up summit on her highest point 8100m. When she descended to C2 at 4:30 pm on 25-Sep, she felt both eyes had severe pain and blurred vision when she slept in the tent. Then she lost most eyesight when she was near C1. Finally reached BC safely with her Sherpa on 26-Sep.


Magdelena Gorzkowska - 3 Oct 2019

Summit on 27/09 by Gorzkowska and Pemba Sherpa Lama at 6:35 am. Started from C4 at 11:50 pm and down to C3 at 2 pm.

Oxygen: not used by member, by Sherpa from just before C4 to summit and down to C4.
