HPt 12/09 5000m by Hiraoka and Kaneko.

Team flew to Samagaon on 6 Sept, climbed up to base camp on 10 Sept, then left base camp on 13 Sept. They just walked around base camp, reaching about 5000m.

Hiraoka was surprised when Kaneko got a fever of 38C on 12 Sept after they went for walk around BC for only 2 hours. The next morning, he was suffering from HAPE and HACE.

They walked down for about 20 minutes using oxygen, and then all of a sudden, Kaneko sat down and was unconscious. It is so quick and Hiraoka could not feel his body condition. They got him down to Samagaon in the end.

The weather was too bad for the helicopter to pick them up, but the rescue was successful and they were picked up from Samagaon on 14 Sept.
