Smt 01/05 by Dawa Steven Sherpa and Nanda Dorje Sherpa.

4 of them left from Everest BC together for Summit on 01/05 at 5:30 am (Dawa Steven + Nanda Dorje + 2 from Himex, Phura Namgya and Nima Tenzing, Khumjung). Fixed ropes together from C2 to the summit. Brice put Dawa Steven on his permit and they in return helped with the rope fixing.

Weather was perfect, no wind. Marginal snow in the evening. On summit for about half an hour.

Descent: Straight down to Everest BC on 01/05 reaching at about 7 pm.

Copied from Brice’s account: On 01 May at 13.00 Phura Namgya and Nima Tenzing from Himex managed to fix ropes to the summit. Dawa Steven and Nanda Dorje from Asian Trekking also reached the summit at the same time. (I have known Dawa for many years and when he asked if the two of them could use our route, I agreed and was able to get the required permissions for these two Sherpas to climb).

Sherpa:

Fixed rope: Rope was fixed to shoulder before they got there. Tents were already in position. Carried some sleeping bags and rope and fixing materials and own food and gas. They (Dawa, etc) fixed the ropes from the shoulder up.

Oxygen: Not taken, not used
