His first climb was in 1974, when he followed a friend up the mid-slope of Seoninbong Peak on Dobongsan Mountain. Being twenty years old at the time, he felt a sense of pride climbing a path that others could not take at such a young age. Gradually falling for the charm of mountains, he graduated from the Korea Alpine School as part of the 3rd class in 1975. In 1982, he founded the Rock Party Alpine Club, and for 40 years, he lived obsessed with mountains, engaging in rock climbing, ice climbing, ski mountaineering, the Korea Alpen Book Club, and the Seoul Alpine Federation. He was often told to quit everything and go on oversea expeditions. Yet, he do not regret not quitting his job back then. Even now, if a junior colleague is torn between their career and expeditions, he advise them to give up the expeditions. He believe that mountains are not merely a means of making a living, but that one must harmonize life with the mountains.

안일수가 1974년 친구 따라 도봉산 선인봉의 허릿길을 오른 것이 첫 등반이었다. 그는 당시 스무 살이었으니 어린 나이에 남들이 못 가는 길에 오른다는 우쭐한 기분도 들었다. 그렇게 점점 산의 매력에 빠져서 1975년에는 한국등산학교를 3기로 졸업했다. 1982년에는 록파티산악회를 창립했고 암벽등반과 빙벽등반, 산악스키, 한국산서회, 서울시산악연맹 활동까지 40년을 산에 미쳐서 살았다. 그는 다 때려치우고 원정을 가라는 얘기도 많이 들었다. 그래도 그때 회사를 그만두지 않은 걸 후회하지 않는다. 지금도 직장과 원정을 놓고 고민하는 후배가 있으면 원정을 포기하라고 충고하고 있다. 산은 밥벌이의 대상이 아니고 산과 삶을 함께 조율해야 한다고 생각한다. 

1974年に友人に沿って道鳳山のサン・インボンの胴道を登ったのが初登山だった。当時20歳だったので、幼い年齢で他人が行けない道に上がるといううっとりした気分も聞いた。そのようにますます山の魅力に陥り、1975年には韓国登山学校を3期に卒業した。 1982年にはロックパーティー山岳会を創立し、岩壁登山と氷壁登山、山岳スキー、韓国山西会、ソウル市山岳連盟活動まで40年を山に及んで暮らした。全部叩いて遠征に行くという話もたくさん聞いた。それでもその時会社を辞めなかったことを後悔しない。今でも職場と遠征をめぐって悩む後輩があれば遠征をあきらめるように忠告している。山はご飯の対象ではなく、山と人生を一緒に調和しなければならないと考える。

他的第一次登山是在1974年，当时他跟随一位朋友攀登了道峰山仙人峰的中段。那时他才20岁，能够攀登一条其他人无法企及的路线，让他感到无比自豪。随着他对山峰的热爱与日俱增，1975年他从韩国登山学校第三期毕业。1982年，他创立了“岩石派对”登山俱乐部，此后40年间，他全身心投入到山峰的研究中，参与了攀岩、冰攀、滑雪登山、韩国山地文学协会以及首尔高山协会等活动。他经常听到人们劝他放弃一切去探险。然而，他并不后悔当初没有辞职。即使现在，如果年轻的同事在事业和探险之间犹豫不决，他也会建议他们放弃探险。他认为，山峰不仅仅是谋生的手段，更重要的是人要与山峰和谐共处。
